Creative Diversion: Women In Tech LinkedIn Banner

Creative Diversion: Women In Tech LinkedIn Banner

I recently saw a beautiful banner on a colleague’s LinkedIn profile celebrating women in technology. A great LinkedIn profile is more than just a digital resume. It’s a personal brand statement. One of the most impactful ways to elevate your profile is with a custom banner. Check out this beauty!

The colleague indicated that she had snagged the banner from someone else (with permission), and that person had done the same. Unsure of the original image’s origins or usage rights, I decided to create my own and publish them here for anyone to use.

Logo Usage Notes

I created three sets of banners so that folks could use the one they feel the most comfortable with. The makeup is mostly the same, with little variation in logos, colors, etc.

ServiceNow Colors – Download ZIP

I started with the ServiceNow set due to the original inspiration. ServiceNow ok’ed the use of brand colors but not the logo. The source files were updated on January 23, 2025 to remove the ServiceNow logo from this set.

Originally the first set had the ServiceNow logo on it, so I created the second set with my website’s brand colors at the request of some friends on the sndevs #womennow channel in slack.

After some internal discussion, my employer approved a third set using the Serenity logo. As a software company, we proudly support women in tech, STEM, and the EHS space. It’s striking to see that women make up only 25–27% of EHS specialist roles, and the numbers are likely even lower in STEM fields. These figures highlight the importance of amplifying women’s voices and celebrating their contributions in these industries. Let’s work together to create opportunities, inspire future generations, and drive greater representation and equity in tech, STEM, and EHS.

AI Imagery

In Midjourney, I experimented and iterated with several styles and prompts and landed on two images that I thought conveyed the message I was looking for. The prompts below as close but might not get you exact results, I did iterate several times to tweak until I liked what I saw, and used the edit tool to eliminate any obvious extra eyes and shoulders. Let me know if I missed any!

  1. A group of diverse multi-generational business women, different ethnicities and skin tones. They stand together on the cover page for an online platform called ‘Women In tech’. The background is white. There’s no text or typography visible in any part of the illustration. It features overlapping portraits of each woman. by John Holcroft for A24
  2. An ornate mosaic made out of images of other women depicting a group of diverse multi-generational women in tech of different ages, ethnicities, skin tones, and body shapes. They stand together in a row on the cover page for an online platform called ‘Women In Tech.’ The women exude calm confidence with a hint of warmth and happiness. The background is white. There’s no text or typography visible in any part of the illustration. It features overlapping portraits of each woman.

Construction

I used Canva to put all the pieces together. I have a Pro subscription, but only used the premium features to remove the background of the AI generated images. Canva isn’t the only player in the background removal business anymore, so you could get similar results without Pro.

A few tips for creating your own LinkedIn Banners:

  • Keep it simple: A clean and uncluttered design is more impactful.
  • Use strong visuals: Choose images that are relevant to your message and capture attention.
  • Placement is important: Don’t forget to leave space for your lovely face in that lower left-hand corner.

I had a lot of fun creating these banners! What do you think of my creations? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
